Get Ready for the Race TIPS!
Before you begin running, jogging or walking, please remember these important suggestions…..
1. Check with your doctor to be sure that walking, running, or jogging this race is right for you. If you are not used to exercise, plan to walk at a comfortable pace.
2. Wear properly fitting shoes and comfortable, loose-fitting clothes. Adjust attire according to weather conditions.
3. Take time to warm-up before and cool down after the walk/run!
4. Run, walk or jog in this Race at your regular level of speed and effort. If anything hurts or you get too tired, take time off until it feels better or simply stop.
Course Safety TIPS!
Stay on the course at all times. Communication and medical personnel will be positioned along the 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Fun Walk to provide assistance and alert the proper authorities if an emergency situation does occur. Participants requiring medical treatment may be transported to an area hospital.
If you see another runner in trouble, please give assistance or notify the nearest course official. If an emergency occurs and a cell phone is available, please call 911 for assistance. Provide the location of the emergency by relaying the nearest course marker number to the emergency operator.
Complete the medical health and emergency contact information on the back of your bib. This is VERY important in the event that you are injured or have other difficulties.
For the safety of all participants, inline skaters and pets are discouraged from participating in this event. No strollers permitted on race course during the 5K Run. No walkers permitted on the race course during the 5K Run or prior to the start of the 5K Walk. |
